Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance variety earned her acclaim in a variety of genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson has a father who is a film director and an architect. Her family was based in New York City. Hunter was the twin sister of Johansson was born in the City of New York. By the time she was seven years old, her passion for acting had grown. She started to audition for commercials. Then she began her studies at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and then went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. When she was eight years old, Johansson starred alongside Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in Off-Broadway productions. And at age nine her debut film was Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson then appeared as a character in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about orphaned siblings who flee. The Horse Whisperer (2000), in which she played an teen with a defect because of an accident earned her critical acclaim. After that, in Ghost World 2001 (as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca), Johansson gained an even greater amount of attention. Renee Felice Smith's path into the world of entertainment started in a very early age. As a child she was captivated by acting. Smith landed the first of many acting roles when she was just 6. She was in the Dannon yogurt TV commercial. As with most actresses beginning to get their feet wet, she would work on her acting skills. Her work included various USA projects while getting her stage debut in the company of Wildflower. She was a graduate of at the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
